Contact lenses
A fitting is an exam of its own: the lens has to suit the eye as well as the prescription.
Your contact lens prescription is yours. We give you a copy when the fitting is finished, and you can fill it with any seller. If a seller calls to verify it, we confirm it. Contact lenses carry risks, including eye infection. The doctor explains them at the fitting, along with how to clean and wear your lenses.

A full eye exam, with measurements of the front of your eye for the lens.
We choose a lens and put in a trial pair. You'll see how it feels and how you see.
We teach putting lenses in and taking them out, and how to clean and store them.
A short visit after a week or two, to check how your eyes are doing with the lenses.
The exam is billed like any eye exam. A contact lens fitting and the lenses are often separate from the exam, and a vision plan may have a contact lens benefit. We give you an estimate before you start.

Your questions

Fits contact lenses and runs the eye exams, and explains each step as it happens.
Yes. Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy when the fitting is finished.
Many people do both. The doctor checks at the exam which suits your eyes and your routine.
We verify it with the prescriber first, as the law asks. If the doctor can't confirm it, we'll tell you the next step.
Tell us when you book that you want contact lenses, and we set aside the time.
